Risk and analytical results
- hazardObserved
- Unofficial translation: In the entire homogenized product, a content of glycidyl fatty acid esters, calculated as glycidol, of 3240 ± 972 µg/kg fat and of 3-MCPD fatty acid esters, calculated as free 3-MCPD, of 6863 ± 2059 µg/kg was detected. The maximum levels for glycidol and for 3-MCPD are clearly exceeded in the total fat of the present product, even when taking the expanded measurement uncertainty into account. For the submitted, tested product, the following applies: pursuant to Art. 2(2) of Regulation (EEC) No. 315/93, the detected 3-MCPD fatty acid esters, calculated as free 3-MCPD, and glycidyl fatty acid esters, calculated as free glycidol, must be limited to levels as low as can reasonably be achieved through good manufacturing practices at all stages of production.
