Unofficial translation: Analysis of the sample revealed conspicuously high levels of glycidol in the total fat of the homogenized sample. A content of glycidyl fatty acid esters, calculated as glycidol, of 7029 +/- 2109 µg/kg fat was detected in the entire product. There are currently no legally prescribed maximum levels for the above-mentioned substances in the present food category (snack products). Nevertheless, according to Article 2(1) in conjunction with Annex 1 Nos. 5.3 and 5.4 of Regulation (EU) No. 2023/915, a maximum level of 1000 μg glycidyl fatty acid esters, calculated as free glycidol, per kg of vegetable fat/oil currently applies in the EU. The maximum value for glycidol is clearly exceeded in the total fat of the product, even taking into account the expanded measurement uncertainty.
