Following a consumer complaint, the Belgian competent authority identified this food supplement on an online marketplace operated by a Dutch FBO and targeting Belgian consumers. The product is described as Yohimbe bark extract (Corynanthe johimbe). Corynanthe johimbe and Pausinystalia johimbe are botanical synonyms referring to the same species. Yohimbe bark and its preparations are prohibited in foods under Part A of Annex III to Regulation (EC) No 1925/2006, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2019/650. The product has not been notified as a food supplement in Belgium. Its online presentation also contains unauthorised health claims concerning weight loss, appetite suppression, athletic performance, antidepressant effects and blood pressure, as well as a prohibited medicinal claim relating to the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
