Se ha detectado la presencia de dióxido de titanio (E 171) como agente de recubrimiento en un complemento alimenticio. La autorización a utilizar el dióxido de titanio fue retirada (Reglamento(UE) 2022/63 de la Comisión) a consecuencia de la reevaluación llevada a cabo por ESA en la que se concluyó que no puede considerarse como seguro cuando se utiliza como aditivo alimentario, en base a su posible genotoxicidad. // Titanium dioxide (E 171) has been detected as a coating agent in a food supplement. The authorisation to use titanium dioxide was withdrawn (Commission Regulation (EU) 2022/63) following a re-evaluation carried out by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), which concluded that it cannot be considered safe when used as a food additive, on the basis of its potential genotoxicity.
