Curcumin is a novel food that cannot be marketed in the EU until a history of significant and safe consumption has been demonstrated or it has been authorized as a novel food. In this case, we would not describe the risk as undetermined, because there are indications of hepatotoxicity, particularly in sensitive individuals, and in fact the company itself already acknowledges this on its website.
