During the analysis of the sample for residues of plant protection products, residues of the active substance abamectin (total) were detected at a level of 0.015 mg/kg sample. According to Article 18(1) of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, a legally binding, EU-wide harmonised maximum residue level for abamectin (sum of avermectin B1a, avermectin B1b and delta-8,9-isomer of avermectin B1a, expressed as avermectin B1a) (0.010 mg/kg). Although the residue level detected in the present sample exceeds the maximum residue level laid down by law, the exceedance is not certain after taking into account the analytical uncertainty. When evaluating the analysis results of plant protection product residues, the measurement uncertainty (usually +/- 50% according to EU Document No. SANTE/11312/2021 V2) must be taken into account.
