CBD oil is offered for sale on Polish webshop. Currently, only hemp seed and some of its derivatives (e.g. hemp seed oil) have a proven history of consumption as food before 15 May 1997 in the European Union. But no significant history as a food ingredient has yet been demonstrated for hemp extracts and CBD extracts. They are thus considered novel foods and are consequently banned on that basis. In addition, non-authorized health and medical claims were identified (like e.g. anti-inflammatory, combating addictions, relieving chronic pain…) (EU 1924/2006).
