Mycotoxins The average consumption of "fruit" spices by a French adult consumer is 0.01 g/kg body weight per day (INCA3 data taken from the EFSA consumption database). The exposure of a consumer of the tonka bean batch to aflatoxins is therefore 0.29 ng/kg bw for aflatoxin B1 and 0.53 ng/kg bw for the sum of the 4 aflatoxins. Exposure to the sum of the 4 aflatoxins is greater than 0.04 ng/kg bw per day (threshold below which consumer exposure is not considered to be of concern - see EFSA opinion of January 30, 2020 on the risks associated with aflatoxins).
