According to the preface, list A contains “substances not recommended for use in food” and “substances are included in list A if their use as food or food ingredients is not recommended due to known risks.” In addition, the BVL website states the following: List A: Substances that are “not safe” according to Article 14(2) of the Basic Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002 are included in List A, i.e., their use in food is not recommended.The following comments are also made about the plant:... promotes dream-filled sleep; symptoms also visible in animal experiments (Wink/Wyk/Wink)
