After deducting a measurement uncertainty of ± 0.64 mg/kg, this results in a confirmed minimum content of 2.04 mg/kg. According to Annex I No. 3.1.12.3 of Regulation (EU) 2023/915, the maximum content for bark spices is 2.0 mg/kg. Cinnamon is classified as a bark spice. The confirmed minimum lead content of 2.04 mg/kg in the sample therefore exceeds the maximum permissible content of 2.0 mg/kg. The sample therefore does not comply with the requirements of Article 2(1) of Regulation (EU) No 2023/915.
