//// According to the list of ingredients, the sample contains the ingredient “white mulberry leaves” (Morus alba L.); according to the Novel Food Catalog, the young leaves of Morus alba L. are only non-novel in food supplements. The leaves of Morus alba L. are assessed as a novel food within the meaning of Art. 3(2)(a) a)(x) of Regulation (EU) 2015/2283. According to the list of ingredients, the sample contains, among other things, the ingredient “Garcinia combogia.” The labeling does not indicate which part of the Garcinia gummi-gutta plant was used as an ingredient. According to the Novel Food Catalog, only the fruits of Garcinia gummi-gutta are not novel. If other parts of the plant were used as ingredients, this may constitute a novel food within the meaning of Art. 3(2)(a)(iv) of Regulation (EU) 2015/2283.
