It can therefore be assumed that the distributor is aware of the dangers of grayanotoxins. As already explained, grayanotoxins are naturally occurring toxins that are transferred to the honey produced from the nectar. Due to the fluctuations in grayanotoxin levels described above, consumption of such honey may, in the worst case, lead to health problems such as dizziness, paralysis or nausea, which can even be life-threatening without emergency medical treatment.
