Azadirachta indica (neem) is a novel food within the meaning of Article 3(2)(a)(iv) of Regulation (EU) 2015/2283. Almost all plant parts of the neem tree were listed by the EFSA in 2009 as potentially problematic for human health due to the content of azadirachtin A and other ingredients (obtained from seed kernels of neem tree).
