The product was found to contain >640 mg/kg gluten. In addition, common wheat/spelt-specific DNA sequences were detected. According to Annex II of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 (LMIV), ingredients and processing aids made from cereals containing gluten are to be classified in the category ‘Substances or products that cause allergies or intolerances’ under point 1 ‘Cereals containing gluten and products made from them’ and thus highlighted in the list of ingredients. The list of ingredients does not contain gluten. products causing allergies or intolerances’ under point 1 “Cereals containing gluten and products thereof” and must therefore be emphasised in the list of ingredients. No ingredients containing gluten are listed. The label also includes the notice “gluten free”. According to Regulation (EU) No 828/2014, the term ‘gluten-free’ may only be used if the gluten content is no more than 20 mg/kg. In addition, the ingredient sesame must be emphasised in the labelling.
