In several postal packages delivered to Belgium, food supplements of the brand “Fitness Factory” with Tongkat Ali (Eurycoma longifolia) and with Turkesterone (Uzbek Ajuga Turkestanica) were found by our border control post at the airport. These plants are currently not authorized for use in Europe. Eurycoma longifolia is a non-authorized Novel Food. Ajuga Turkestanica is considered a Novel Food until proven otherwise. The safety of this substance is not yet established. Moreover, several medical and health claims were found to be non-compliant on the website: e.g. “anti-inflammatory” and “used for erectile dysfunction”.
