DNP (2.4 Dinitrophenol) is an industrial chemical marketed as a fat burner, but is unsafe for human consumption. It has caused at least 13 deaths in the UK since 2015. DNP is a toxic substance which can result in organ failure, heart attacks, intense vomiting, rapid rise in internal body temperatures and some fatalities. DNP is a highly unstable chemical product, that may decompose under the effect of various factors, causing fire and explosions. It is toxic by inhalations, skin contact and if swallowed. It is also toxic for the environment.
