Da jeder dieser 4 Wirkstoffe / Metaboliten neurotoxische Eigenschaften aufweist, ist ergänzend eine Bewertung möglicher kumulativer Effekte vorgenommen und der Hazard Index (HI) ermittelt worden. Für Erwachsene liegt der HI unterhalb von 1, so dass eine gesundheitliche Beeinträchtigung durch den Verzehr des gemeldeten Erzeugnisses praktisch ausgeschlossen ist. Für Kinder aus den Niederlanden liegt der HI jedoch oberhalb von 1 (HI = 1,28), so dass eine gesundheitliche Beeinträchtigung durch den Verzehr des gemeldeten Erzeugnisses möglich ist. Da für deutsche Kinder keine belastbaren Verzehrsdaten zu frischen Papayas vorliegen, ist eine vergleichbare Exposition wie für niederländische Kinder anzunehmen.
