Risk assessment of pesticide residues in mandarines was performed by the Food Research Institute in Bratislava. Predicted Short Term Intake (PSTI) from sampling result for fenvalerate (including Esfenvalerate) was calculated and compared to ADI. The PSTI value on the ADI value = 104.8% for children-serious risk. The HI (Hazard Index) was also calculated for multiresidual finding of 13 pesticide residues [Acetamiprid (0,33mg/kg), Buprofezin(0,008), Clothianidin (0,099), Etoxazol (0,013), Fenbutatin oxid (0,084), Fenvalerate (0,208), Chlorpyrifos (0,042), Imazalil (0,85), Prochlaz (3,9), Pyrimethanil (3,45), Pyriproxyfen (0,019), Tebuconazole (0,012), Thiamethoxam (0,11)] in mandarines. HI was calculated for children and adults. HI (children) = 14.8 and HI (adults) = 3. Based on the calculated proportion of PSTI in ADI and calculated HI values, the commodity poses a health risk from consumption for both children and adults.
