In der vorliegenden Probe wurde nicht Ethylenoxid, sondern 2-Chlorethanol nachgewiesen. Hierbei handelt es sich um den Metabolit des Begasungsmittels Ethylenoxid. Ethylenoxid wird gemäß VO (EG) Nr. 1272/2008 als krebserzeugend der Kategorie 1B und erbgutschädigend der Kategorie 1B eingestuft wird. Gemäß der Stellungnahme des BfR vom 20.11.2020 (Az. 30- 0202-01-11345065) hat die Risikobewertung für 2-Chlorethanol vorsorglich wie für Ethylenoxid zu erfolgen. Wir verweisen in diesem Zusammenhang auch auf den Erlass des MLR (Az: 36-5477.06 vom 30.10.2020, ergänzt durch den Erlass vom 30.11.2020) zu Verkehrsfähigkeit und Maßnahmen bei verarbeiteten und/oder zusammengesetzten Lebensmitteln mit Ethlylenoxid belasteten Sesamsamen
