Borojo is a novel food ingredient. Nevertheless Following the check carried out on the application for import of the above dossier, consisting of Borojo Jelly, weighing 240 kg net and Tariff Code 2008 99 67, originating in and consigned from Colombia, which was verified by technicians from this Regional Directorate, it was found that the analytical results of the analysis on the sample, which are attached, are as follows: Sorbic acid = 1207 ± 117 mg/kg, higher than the respective maximum level laid down in Regulation (EC) 1333/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on food additives (sorbic acid-potassium sorbate = maximum level = 1000 mg/kg). ”
