Risk and measures

Risk or hazard
Car seats (Child safety seat for vehicles) are attached using Isofix fittings or seat belts. This car seat has no safety problems if it is secured by seat belts. However, if installed using the Isofix base, it poses a risk of not getting firmly fixed with the seats due to small tolerance change of the parts connecting the seats and the Isofix base. The number of the car seats sold during the period is 197, and 5 of them are found to have been sold with the aforementioned Isofix base. In order to prevent any possible problems that could occur in the future, we’ve decided to voluntarily recall all 197 car seats sold during the period. In addition, the sales and the production of the product were discontinued, and we plan to replace the product with a new product certified with the safety mark. ◇ It poses a risk only when the car seat is installed using the Isofix base, as the flange could get bent downward by the strong vertical force of the Isofix base’s hook on the bracket’s flange. As the Isofix base’s all hooks are connected to each other, it could make the hooks open and, as a result, the seat could get separated from the Isofix base.
Recommendations
◇ Consumers who have it must stop using the product immediately. ◇ Return the car seat at the place of purchase and get it replaced with a new car seat.
