The spacing between some crib slats is between 3 mm to 5.5 mm too wide creating a dangerous opening for the child, posing a risk of entrapment. Health Canada reminds parents and caregivers that the safest place for a baby to sleep is on their back on a firm, flat surface intended for sleep.
