The leg of the chair base may break, resulting in the risk of the user falling out of the chair. As of January 22, 2020, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 29 reports of the product breaking, and 1 report of (minor) injury.
Recommendations
Consumers should immediately stop using the chairs and contact Pier 1 Imports for a free replacement chair base. For more information, consumers can contact Pier 1 Imports toll free at 1-855-513-5140 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Saturday or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT Sunday or online. Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website.
