The voltage regulator on some engines may fail, posing a fire hazard, even if the engine is off or not in use. Risk of fire, serious injury or death and/or damage to property if the voltage regulator catches fire.
Recommendations
Stop using the affected mower until it has been repaired.   Disconnect the negative battery cable.
