- The product lacks a safety mechanism to shut it off when open. Hence a user is in close proximity may receive an unsafe dose of UV radiation to the eyes or the skin, increasing the risk of burns or severe injuries to the eyes. Furthermore, the product does not provide adequate instructions on its use. Consequently, it might not kill bacteria or viruses, which could then reach the user, increasing the risk of infection. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive and of the relevant European standard EN 62471.
