The products were found to be non-compliant with food information and food supplement labelling requirements. Allergen labelling requirements under Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Art. 21 and Annex II were not properly fulfilled. Mandatory designation as a “food supplement” was missing (Directive 2002/46/EC, Art. 2(a)). Required warning statements, including “Do not exceed the recommended daily dose” (Art. 2(d)) and “food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle” (Art. 2(e)), were not present. In addition, the products did not include the required name and address of an EU-based food business operator (Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Art. 9(1)(h)).
