- The Chrome Hitch Ball was sold to customers intending to install the product on incompatible models (i.e., The Ascent, Outback, and Forester), posing an injury hazard. Subaru Canada Inc. discovered that the product is not suitable for use with the current Ascent, Outback, and Forester model. The accessory in question is too small to fit any of those models. The accessory is only compatible with all smaller Crosstrek models, the 2021 and earlier Forester models and the 2019 and earlier Outback models. As of November 18, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries related to the affected products in Canada.
