RAPNA: Spain's non-food product alert network

Spain's rapid information-exchange network for non-food consumer products that may present risks.

01

What RAPNA is

RAPNA is Spain's Red de Alerta de Productos No Alimentarios. The Spanish Directorate-General for Consumer Affairs describes it as a rapid information-exchange system linking regional consumer authorities with Spain's central administration.

Its purpose is to help prevent dangerous non-food products from reaching consumers. The Directorate-General coordinates the network and each autonomous community has a contact point.

02

What RAPNA publishes

The network exchanges notifications about measures taken by public authorities and voluntary measures reported by businesses. Action may include marketing bans, withdrawal from the market or recalls from consumers.

Official statistics distinguish serious-risk, non-serious-risk and information notifications. RAPNA is connected to Safety Gate for European-level exchanges.

03

Scope and coverage

RAPNA concerns non-food consumer products on the Spanish market. Detection can arise from market surveillance, border controls, business notifications and other channels described by the Spanish administration.

Scope and measures are specific to each case. A product record does not imply that the same fields or actions are available in every notification.

04

Available information

Depending on the case, public records and documents may include:

  • alert identifier and date
  • category, product, brand or model
  • identified risk
  • country of origin
  • mandatory or voluntary measures
  • images and related documents

NagameAlert

How NagameAlert integrates this source

NagameAlert incorporates available public RAPNA records, retains their identifier and keeps the official portal or document link. Selected fields are organised for filtering and navigation.

Missing data is not replaced with estimates. Consult the Spanish-language RAPNA record when assessing a measure, the affected product or whether the information remains current.
